Terms of Use
Effective October 12, 2026
These terms cover the Hindsight iPhone app and this website. By using Hindsight, you agree to them. "We" and "us" mean ZiveMind LLC, the Wyoming company that runs Hindsight.
If you got the app from the App Store, Apple's standard license agreement for apps also applies. If the two conflict, Apple's agreement wins.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle data.
What Hindsight is
Hindsight is a research tool. It runs backtests, reports, simulations and other tools on historical and simulated market data. It isn't a trading app. It never places trades, holds money or connects to a brokerage account. Its results are hypothetical.
Not financial advice
This isn't financial advice. Data and tax information may be inaccurate.
Hindsight is for research and education only. It isn't investment, tax or legal advice. Simulated results have limitations and don't reflect actual trading. Past performance doesn't predict future results. You're responsible for your own decisions. Check with a qualified professional before you act on any result.
Data and estimates
Market data comes from third parties. It may be late, incomplete or wrong. Simulated returns are models of how a fund might have done before it existed. They aren't real fund history.
Hindsight estimates taxes from published tax rules and simple assumptions. Backtests apply 2026 tax rules to every year they cover. Tax rules change, so these estimates may be out of date or incomplete. Hindsight doesn't prepare, submit or file tax returns. Check with a tax professional before you act on any figure.
Accounts
You can use Hindsight without an account. You need one to subscribe. You sign in with Apple or Google, so keep that account secure. You can delete your account at any time in Account › Delete account.
Subscriptions
Hindsight Pro and Pro+ are auto-renewing weekly or yearly subscriptions.
- Pro: $4.99 a week or $119.99 a year.
- Pro+: $11.99 a week or $239.99 a year.
These are US prices. The App Store shows the price for your country.
Billing. Apple bills your Apple ID when you confirm. Apple's terms apply to payment.
Renewal. Plans renew automatically at the plan's price each period until cancelled. Apple notifies you of a price increase. To avoid the next charge, cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends.
Free trial. New subscribers can start with a 3-day free trial. Each Apple ID gets one free trial across all Hindsight plans. When the trial ends, the paid plan starts and your Apple ID is charged its price. To avoid the charge, cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends.
Changing plans. A higher plan starts right away. Apple refunds the unused part of the old plan to your original payment method. A lower plan, or a switch between weekly and yearly, starts when the current period ends. During a free trial, a higher plan may end the trial and start billing that day.
Cancelling. Cancel in Settings › your name › Subscriptions. Account › Manage subscription opens the same page. We can't cancel for you. A cancelled plan stays active until the end of the current period. Deleting your Hindsight account doesn't cancel your plan. Apple keeps billing until you cancel.
Refunds. Apple decides refunds. You can ask for one in Account › Manage subscription. We can't issue refunds ourselves.
Limits. Every plan has limits to prevent abuse, and we may change them. During a free trial, usage limits are lower than the paid plan's. Reaching a limit never causes a charge.
Features. We may add, change or remove features.
Acceptable use
Don't use Hindsight to:
- break the law,
- get around plan limits, rate limits or payments,
- overload, probe or attack our servers,
- copy market data in bulk, or resell Hindsight or its data,
- share portfolios whose names are unlawful or abusive, or hold someone's personal information.
Anyone with a share link can see the portfolio. We may remove any link.
Don't put passwords, account numbers or other personal information in support messages, portfolio names or tactic descriptions.
Your content
You keep the rights to what you create in Hindsight, such as portfolios and messages. You let us store, process and show it as needed to run Hindsight. For example, we show a shared portfolio to anyone with its link.
Our content
Hindsight's app, website, text and design belong to us. Market data belongs to its providers. You may use Hindsight and its results for your own research.
Disclaimers
Hindsight is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we make no promises about it. That includes any promise that it's accurate, complete, uninterrupted, free of errors or fit for a particular purpose.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages. This includes investment losses, lost profits and lost data. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid for Hindsight in the 12 months before the claim. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
Ending your use
You can stop using Hindsight at any time. To end a subscription, cancel it with Apple. We may suspend or end access for anyone who breaks these terms. We may also stop offering Hindsight.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We'll post the new version here with a new effective date. If you keep using Hindsight after that, the new terms apply.
